Orphaned baby cougars are cute enough. Stick one on a plane and video it being fed milk from a bottle and you hit a whole new level of ‘aww-ness’. That is exactly what happened this week on board a JetBlue flight from Idaho to Massachusetts, USA. four-year old cougar kitten was found alone in Salmon, Idaho by wildlife officials who were unable to find his mother and took him to a local veterinary clinic. They decided that they would have to find him a new home and arranged to send him to a zoo in New England. The adorable kitten, later named ‘Blue’ after the carrier who transported him and not his piercing blue eyes, was whisked away to a new life in New England and arrived after almost five hours in the skies. The journey has taken its toll on the little tyke. He is spending some time in the animal hospital at Franklin Park Zoo in Massachusetts and he won’t be up for any visitors at the zoo for at least a year. Awww. But don’t worry, this is standard procedure – it’s just until he’s big enough to fend for himself. You can catch Blue’s big debut, alongside the other cute cougars at Stone Zoo, in the Treasures of the Sierra Mare exhibition in winter 2015.
