The PlayStation Showcase Was a Solid if Predictable Event

Spidey beats up bad guys in style and always manages to end every action with a cool superhero pose. The game seems to have a mix of real-time action and quick time cutscenes. Quick time events are frowned upon by some gamers, but when the mechanic is done correctly (as it seems to be here), it can greatly enhance action sequences. The trailer ends with a glimpse of Miles Morales, who may or may not be a playable Ultimate Spider-Man in this game.Uncharted: The Lost LegacySony kicked off the show with the upcoming Uncharted DLC, The Lost Legacy. Truth be told, the trailer doesn’t show much that hasn’t been seen in terms of what the game is about. That doesn’t make it any less fun, however. Players will get to try this game out fairly soon since it is coming out on August 22.Detroit: Become HumanWe haven’t heard much about Quantic Dreams’ latest offering for some time, so it was nice to finally see new footage. The vague “2018” release date on this game is particularly frustrating given how great it is shaping up to be. This has the makings of being another Quantic Dream hit.last_img
