first_imgIt’s been nearly 50 years since The Who performed on late night television, but that all changed last night when the legendary rockers took the stage on the set of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. The band is promoting their upcoming The Who Hits 50 tour, which resumes on Monday, March 7th at the TD Garden in Boston, MA.Watch the performance of “Who Are You” below, proving once and for all that Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend still have what it takes to rock hard!The band’s last performance on late night TV was during The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in 1967 (!), which made for one of the most infamous moments in all of rock and roll history. Drummer Keith Moon paid off a stagehand to rig the bass drum with dynamite, and the whole kit exploded during the final measures of the rock anthem “My Generation.” You can visibly see guitarist Pete Townshend temporarily lose his hearing as the stage is smoking from the explosion.
