first_imgThe Johns Hopkins University’s Department of Environmental Healthand Engineering seeks applicants for tenure-track faculty positionsfocused on Innovative Clean Water Technologies for the 21stCentury. Candidates should have core expertise in the broad areasof water and/or wastewater treatment with an emphasis on novelcost-effective and energy efficient technologies. Specific areas ofinterest include but are not limited to: physico-chemical orbiological processes to advance technologies for recovery and reuseof impaired waters, resource recovery from wastewaters, novelsensors and diagnostic tools for monitoring water supply andtreatment infrastructure, and novel materials. Candidates shoulddemonstrate the ability to develop broad interdisciplinarycollaborations to address water challenges in a global context, byleveraging technological advancements in other fields such asutilizing the JHU Materials Characterization Processing (MCP) CoreFacility, or incorporating life-cycle/systems analysis andsustainability concepts into analysis and design, and consideringsocietal and environmental impacts and resource circularity.Individuals who integrate the above areas with public health orpolicy are especially encouraged to apply.The Department of Environmental Health and Engineering, which spansthe Whiting School of Engineering and the Bloomberg School ofPublic Health, has 49 tenured/tenure-track and 40 non-tenure-trackfaculty members.
